Maritech Group Inc. (formerly operated as Ebonova Marine Environmental Services Inc). has completed a
multitude of projects for commercial shipyards and Government entities. The following is a brief list of our
clientele:
USAF Ex-Gen Hoyt Vandenberg (Norfolk, VA). EMESI/MGI was contracted to remove
all hydrocarbons (from fuel tanks and pipelines) and PCB cables from the vessel, totaling
70,000 linear feet. We were also tasked to remove exfoliated lead paint chips and debris
throughout the entire vessel.
The USAF Vandenberg was a 552-foot troop transport/tracking vessel. The vessel was
towed from the James River Reserve Fleet in 2007 to be berthed in Norfolk, VA for
remediation efforts to prepare the vessel to become an artificial reef in Key West, FL. The
USAF Vandenberg was sunk on May 27, 2009, and is now the second largest man-made
reef in the world.
